Who is CCF

The Children's Cardiology Foundation (CCF) raises funding to improve the awareness, clinical research, and treatment of congenital heart disease (CHD). CCF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

We are currently expanding our online resources center to improve caregiver awareness of symptoms, diagnoses, treatment, and rehabilitation options for patients with CHD, from prenatal babies to teens. We have held several local support meetings in southern California and will be expanding these support groups across the country. A national online system is under development to coordinate and fund clinical research and treatment for pediatric patient candidates to improve and save the lives of children with CHD.

Help Little Hearts Heal

For families that are affected by congenital heart defects, an online resource center, “Help Little Hearts Heal”, is being developed. This resource center will help families through online education and community support. For example, the site will provide a list of upcoming events that connect families to the larger community, as well as information to help locate pediatric cardiovascular centers and specialists. There will also be helpful information on caring for a child in each stage of his or her development, from prenatal care and birth through adolescence, and even into adulthood. Please subscribe to our mailing list below and you will be informed when Help Little Hearts Heal is active.

Touching Statistics

Occurring in nearly 1 out of every 100 live births, congenital heart defects are the most common form of birth defect. If left untreated, congenital heart defects often lead to early death in infants and children. Although these defects can't be prevented, advancements in pediatric medicine have provided more treatment options than ever before, and most defects can be treated successfully if diagnosed early and appropriately.

This is why early diagnosis and treatment are critical. Increased funding and awareness will ensure that lifesaving surgeries and the highest quality of care, resources, and services are available to the littlest hearts that need them.
